The Respect, Protect, Elect Black Women T-Shirt Campaign

Several decades later and this quote still rings true, "The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman." -Malcolm X. Even in the year 2021, Black women are still underpaid, underrepresented, undervalued, and too often ignored. Black women continue to have the highest maternal mortality rates.

 

Black women deserve love and respect. Black women need to be acknowledged and celebrated for their work and contributions, and while they are still here. Black women should be in spaces that impact them most. 

 

This design is a call to action. It's a call for accountability. It's a visual statement to speak to a problematic history. Lastly, it's an ode to Black women and the individuals who love, respect and value them.
